Press Release Marketing - You''re In Business Announcement

So you''re an entrepreneur and you''re in business for yourself. You recognize the need to be self sufficient and generate wealth for yourself instead of making somebody else rich - this is good! But now what? You''re in business, you know that you''re in business, but does everybody else know you''re in business? If you have been following me at all, you will know that I''m an advocate of attracting business to me, instead of me continually hunting after it. I ask you now, how can you attract business, and new reps if nobody knows that you''re in business? The answer is clear - you need to make them aware that you''re in business. Press Release Marketing is one of the many low cost to free solutions available to you.

There are many people out there who follow different press release sites for the latest start-ups; however, to truly leverage press release marketing you will want to draw traffic from organic searches - by this I mean to show up in Google when somebody does a search. The higher you rank, the more traffic and exposure you''ll gain, so it''s important to do keyword research, choose the keywords you feel that you can rank with, and plan your press release marketing campaign accordingly. If possible, include your key word terms in the title of the press release, as well as three to four times throughout the text.

Writing a press release is not like every other piece of marketing or advertising; you are announcing a specific event. In this case you are announcing that you have just gone into business, or partnered with another company, etc. Another thing that makes press release marketing different than general article marketing is that a press release is written in the third person. It should read similar to a news story - like you have just been interviewed. Take the time to write the press release correctly, because most press release sites will not accept improperly formatted releases. Even The Head Line Should Be Written Like A News Story, meaning that the first letter of every word is capitalized. Using all caps and punctuating with exclamation marks will cause the press release to appear more like common advertising, and people will ignore it as such.

Create a basic out line for composing your press release marketing campaign, by answering the following questions:

 1. What specific event am I announcing?
 2. When did this event happen?
 3. Who did this event involve?
 4. Why would other people be interested in reading about this event?
 5. Where can people find out more information?

You will also want to include two or three quotes for your press release. Write these as though you are being interviewed about the specific event of the press release (going into business or who you partnered with).

When you have completed writing your press release, it should look something like this:

Remember to do a thorough review for both spelling and grammar before blasting your press release marketing campaign out to the internet. Once your submitted press release has been published, you can''t change it, so make sure it''s professional and error free before you submit it to the publishing sites.
